Tower 16

Tower 16 is a luxury residential building located within one of Kuwait City’s dense and bustling commercial districts. The tower incorporates underground parking, expansive recreational facilities, and apartment unit types for single occupants and small families. Departing from the typical systematized approach to residential towers, Tower 16’s apartments are organized into unique floor plates of varied unit combinations, resulting in a distinct building characterized by irregular bands of windows and alternating voids. Maintaining a practical logic by averting overlapping sight lines and internalized noise pollution, the design approach imbues each apartment unit with a sense of tranquility and a unique set of outward looking views. In this way, the design for Tower 16’s synthesizes the scale of its surroundings and the needs of its inhabitants into a practical and innovative model for Kuwait’s future urban development.
